OUR STORY

During the first wave of the pandemic, three medical students (then M1s), Tricia Pendergrast, Emma Office, and Tazim Merchant came together to form Northwestern Students Supporting the Community during COVID (SSCC). They worked together to leverage student volunteers from different years and schools within Feinberg, and provide them with a virtual ecosystem to build their own initiatives. Following the first wave, NU SSCC, now Venture for Impact, is a part research, part idea / intervention incubator. Our aim is not only for students to build sustainable community initiatives, but also to help them publish their work in journals to share with the scientific and medical community.
